Delivery of 1,025.36 tons of No. 45 transformer oil during May-June 2020

      The high-voltage transmission line project from Zhangjiakou Zhangbei UHV Substation to Baoding Xiong'an UHV Substation was put into operation on August 29, 2020.

Project Overview:

      The Zhangbei-Xiong'an 1,000 kV UHV AC Transmission Project spans a total length of 2×319.9 km, originating from Zhangbei UHV Substation in Zhangjiakou and terminating at Xiong'an UHV Substation in Baoding. The route passes through nine counties/districts including Zhangbei County, Wanquan District, Huai'an County, Yangyuan County and Yu County in Zhangjiakou, as well as Laiyuan County, Yi County, Xushui District and Dingxing County in Baoding.The Hebei North section covers 2×218 km, with 2×132 km constructed as double-circuit lines on the same tower and the remaining 2×86 km built as parallel single-circuit lines, involving the erection of 558 new transmission towers. The Hebei section required construction of 234 new transmission towers.

      As a crucial component of North China's UHV grid network and a key power grid project of State Grid Corporation, this project utilizes long-distance, large-capacity UHV AC transmission technology to deliver abundant clean energy from Zhangjiakou to Xiong'an New Area's load center. This helps alleviate power flow pressure on Beijing's 500 kV ring network from north-to-south transmission. Upon completion, it delivers over 7 billion kWh of clean electricity annually to Xiong'an New Area, enabling 100% clean energy power supply. 

      It is an important part of the ultra-high-voltage AC power grid planned and built by the State Grid Corporation. It is a clean energy transmission project in the construction of the supporting power grid of the Winter Olympics. It is also an important ultra-high-voltage hub station in North China, which undertakes the important task of "west-to-east transmission, north-south transmission".

      Xiong'an 1000 kV ultra-high voltage substation main substation expansion project: 6 million kVA, if it is operated at full capacity, the daily power generation can basically meet the annual electricity demand of a small county. In the long run, the pull power of the ultra-high-voltage project is reflected in the fact that it can provide sufficient and stable clean energy for Xiong'an New Area and other places to ensure regional economic and social development.

      In the process of infrastructure construction, the scale of government investment and public expenditure has expanded, which has doubled the expansion of national income. The achievements of infrastructure construction will also promote the development and improvement of relevant industrial chains and play a role in promoting our overall economic development. At the same time, the investment brought by infrastructure will also make the production activities of enterprises more active, increase high-quality supply, and ultimately drive the continuous growth of consumption and expand total domestic demand.
